Is the park open during weekends, school holidays and Belgian public holidays?

Yes, of course! The wildlife park is open all year round except Mondays and Tuesdays from 15 November to 15 March. The adventure park is open every weekend, public holiday, school holiday from 15 March to 15 November.

How much does an annual pass for the wildlife park cost?

A Forest’pass annual pass costs the price of two visits (see our prices). This annual pass for a named person gives access to the wildlife park all year round (we’re even open in winter!), the playground and the Forest’bar at lunchtime. And you only pay a small supplement for the adventure park.

Is your park wheelchair-friendly?

Our park is very hilly, so it’s not wheelchair-friendly. Please be aware that you may need to push the wheelchair uphill, which can be tiring. Please also note that there are wheelchair-friendly toilets at the park entrance, but not at the Forest’bar.

Is smoking permitted in the park?

No, it’s strictly prohibited by the DNF (Department of Nature and Forests).

Can I bring a small bike for my child?

No, bikes, scooters, skates, etc. are all prohibited.

Can I bring a ball for my child?

No, that’s prohibited for animal safety reasons.

Can I bring a pushchair for my child? Can I hire one from you?

Of course! Just be aware that the park is quite hilly, so you’ll need strong arms and legs to push 🙂 We don’t rent them out onsite.

Are small dogs or puppies allowed, perhaps in a bag?

No, in the interest of animal welfare they are not allowed and this applies to ALL wildlife parks.

Can we bring our own picnic and drinks?

Yes, of course! You can even leave it in your car if you’d like. Just be sure to keep hold of your tickets and receipt if you do this, so that you can pop out and collect it later. We have designated picnic areas. Picnicking is not permitted at the Forest’bar.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, you have to book your visit in advance and ideally buy your ticket online. For groups, please return the booking form to us online.

Can we just use the playground?

No, the playground is reserved for park visitors and annual pass holders during the day and for Forest’bar customers in the evening. Another good reason to get an annual pass!

Can I pay by card?

Yes, all our points of sale have a card payment terminal. For security reasons, we prefer this method of payment.

Do you run corporate events?

Yes, we offer breaks in nature, family days, incentive days and team building events, which can include meeting rooms, meals and overnight stays. Please contact events@forestia.be

Can I lend my annual pass to a family member/friend?

NO, annual passes are for the named person only and must be presented at reception along with proof of identity.

For birthdays, do you look after the children?

No, you need to supervise the children during their visit to the wildlife park & adventure park activities. Our adventure park instructors are there for briefings and to keep everyone safe.

Can I stay the night in the wildlife park?

Yes, since April 2023, when one of our dreams became a reality. Two options: 5 lodges scattered throughout the wildlife park in certain enclosures, so as not to disturb the animals and so that you feel alone in the world (or nearly). Everything you need to experience a real moment in nature, as a couple, among family or with friends! You can also stay the night at our new super cosy hotel 2 minutes from the park. Can I buy gift vouchers online?

Yes! Please go to our GIFT VOUCHERS page. There you will find our wildlife park, adventure park (which includes the wildlife park) and annual passes (Forest’pass) vouchers

Is there somewhere I can warm up my little one’s bottle/meal? And a place for nappy changes?

Yes, there are several microwaves available, and we also offer changing tables.

What age do teens need to be to visit the adventure park without parental supervision?

14 years and above, min. 1.5 m and 1.8 m with arms raised, with the agreement of the instructor.

How long should we expect to spend at the adventure park?

Each course takes about 25 minutes to complete. There are eight courses for teens and adults and eight children’s courses, as well as the two giant zip wires, one is 120 metres long.

Can we still go to the adventure park if it’s raining?

In theory, yes, you just need to be properly equipped. However, the adventure park may have to close temporarily if there’s a storm.

Is there a specific dress code for the treetop adventure trails?

Sportswear and closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended. No skirts or sandals. Long hair needs to be tied back.

Is access to the wildlife park compulsory?

Yes, for the lodges it is, because the accommodation is located in the wildlife park.

How do I access the lodges?

Access is on foot from the main car park at Forestia. They’re a short walk away. Please note that check-in takes place at the Wood Hotel, a 2-minute drive away. You can’t drive in the park, which is all part of the adventure. One of our amazing colleagues will take your luggage to your lodge and collect it at the end of your stay. Access to the Forest’bar is on foot, but if you have any concerns, it’s also possible to order takeaway food to your lodge.

Where are the lodges located?

Our 5 lodges are scattered throughout the wildlife park. The BARRY is located in the highlands enclosure with a view of our black bears, the SIMONE is in our tarpan horse and fallow deer enclosure, the SCOTT is in our llama, yak and sika deer enclosure, the HARRY is next to our Canadian wolves and reindeer and the MATHILDE is near our European wolves and takins.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is at 3 pm, but you can arrive earlier to enjoy the park (full package), and check-out is at 11 am, but if you chose the full package, you can stay in the park all day. If you’re staying at a lodge, we’ll transport your luggage for you.

Are annual pass holders entitled to a discount?

No, this isn’t currently the case.

What kind of breakfast do you offer?

At the hotel, we offer a sweet and savoury buffet (a variety of fresh, local produce) and at the lodges breakfast is served in a basket.

Can I arrive after 7 pm?

At the hotel you can, but please let us know in advance. At the lodges it’s more tricky because the luggage service is no longer available.

Do you provide bed linen and towels?

Yes, bed linen and towels are provided at the hotel and lodges. This is a genuine hotel service.

Is admission to the wildlife park included?

For the lodges, it is. For the hotel, it isn’t, because you can choose between two options (full package, which includes wildlife park admission, breakfast and evening meals, or bed and breakfast only)

Where do we check in?

Please note that check-in is not at the Forestia reception, but at the hotel lobby (WOOD – Rue du Pied de la Fagne, 10 à 4910 THEUX) 2 minutes from the park. This is the case whether you’re staying at the hotel or at a lodge.

What kind of breakfast do you offer?

Breakfast delivered to each lodge in one or more baskets (a variety of fresh, local produce) depending on the number of people.

Are meals compulsory?

Yes, you can’t cook in your lodge. Breakfast and evening meals (at the Forest’bar) are therefore included in the package.

Is the adventure park included when I book a stay?

No, but guests staying at the hotel and lodges enjoy a preferential price for the adventure park (when it’s open) if they choose the “full package” option

Are there any animals at the hotel?

The hotel is not located in the wildlife park, but there are two hinds and a calf, as well as a fallow deer with its fawn in the woods bordering the hotel garden. And each room has a different animal theme.

Are meals compulsory when staying at the hotel?

No! At the hotel, you can choose between two options: either the full package, which includes admission to the wildlife park, breakfast and your evening meals at the Forest’bar, or the bed and breakfast package. However, you can still eat at the Forest’bar even if you haven’t chosen the option that includes your evening meals. Remember to book your table!

Is access to the wildlife park compulsory when staying at the hotel?

No! At the hotel, you can choose between two options: either the full package, which includes admission to the wildlife park, breakfast and your evening meals at the Forest’bar, or the bed and breakfast package. However, you can still buy tickets for the wildlife/adventure park on the day if you wish. Remember to book in advance!

Do I need my car to travel between the hotel and the park?

Yes, it’s safer because you have to walk along the side of the road. By car, it’s very quick (2 minutes)

Where’s the hotel located?

The hotel is located two minutes from the park by car (Rue du Pied de la Fagne, 10 4910 THEUX)

Can we get a cot in our room?

We’d love to welcome your little one (age 0-2). Please mention this when making your booking and we’ll provide a travel cot free of charge. In some lodges, a travel cot is already provided.

Is cleaning included?

Of course! This hotel service is available at the hotel and in the lodges.

Do I need to bring my own bed linen?

No, this hotel service is available at the hotel and in the lodges! We have very comfortable bedding, we hope you enjoy it!

What kind of breakfast do you offer?

We offer a sweet and savoury buffet (a variety of fresh, local produce) in a cosy setting with wood and pretty lighting. There’s also a large terrace where you can eat in summer!

WHO DESIGNED THE LODGES?

The lodges were created after several years of deliberation and with the help of the talented Olivier Fourneau (architect) and Kévin Bona (Label 5.9)

ARE THE LODGES EASILY ACCESSIBLE TO ALL?

The lodges are not wheelchair-friendly as they are scattered throughout the hilly wildlife park and you have to walk to reach them. They’re all raised above ground level, so access is via steps. If you have young children, please remember to bring pushchairs and baby carriers.

Can I access the Forest’shop without paying admission to the park?

In principle, no, the shop is reserved for visitors and annual pass holders, but we do try to respond positively to this kind of request outside of weekends and peak days whenever possible. It’s best to give us a call on +32 (0)87 54 10 75.

What’s the Forest’bar?

It’s a restaurant-bar overlooking a large playground, with table service, a variety menus and fresh produce (no self-service). In high season, our Forest’bar team sometimes opens the Ice Cream Bar too (yum!) and the Shelter, which offers takeaway meals.

My gift voucher has expired, what can I do?

We kindly ask you to respect the validity of your vouchers so as not to upset our accountant (who likes everything to be above board ;-)) but please let us know if you have any concerns. We do our best to keep everyone happy (including the accountant)

How long are your gift vouchers valid for?

Our wildlife park and adventure park vouchers are valid for one year from the date of purchase. Our annual pass vouchers must be exchanged at reception within three months of purchase. The resulting annual pass is then valid for one year from the date it was validated.
